And at Pesce, Sommelier Armando Dawdy is an expert in the art of wine, offering the ultimate service by determining your tastes and mood, and assisting in the selection of the perfect wine to match the perfect meal. Like a magician, Armando, with the right wine, can heighten your dining experience into a near state of bliss!!

Born and bred in Houston, Texas, Armando attended the University of Houston and began his career as the Manager and Maitre’D of the Ritz Carlton in Houston. From there, Armando began a long career working for the Vallone Restaurant Group in various positions. Armando served as the General Manager of the highly regarded Vallone’s Restaurant and later, Anthony’s Restaurant. During the course of his tenure, he also served as the Certified Sommelier/Cellar Master of Tony’s, as well as Corporate Sommelier overseeing the wine services of several restaurants. Rising in his profession, Armando became certified in the Member Court of Master Sommelier.

Over the years, Armando has had the distinct pleasure of serving wines to some of the world’s most recognized celebrities and dignitaries, including Elizabeth Taylor, the King of Oman, George and Barbara Bush, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Bill Gates, Mick Jagger and Arnold Palmer, just to name a few.

His impressive skills and extensive knowledge and appreciation of wine has had an intoxicating effect at Pesce. Married and a brand new father, Armando genuinely loves his profession, along with a great bottle of burgundy wine!
